Pantry clearance results in a cookie bar

I wanted to title this post "Throw Away Cookie" but then that would have been...ahmm ...slightly misleading. Right? Well that was because as I mentioned in my earlier post, we are relocating to another country. And that means I am clearning my pantry, amidst other things. So I wanted to use my lying choco chips and brown sugar. But then however much I tried to find recipes with very few ingredients, there was always something that I didn't have in my kitchen. Yes even basic baking essentials like eggs or cocoa powder were all finished and I had no intention of buying anything new. So I decided to challenge my instincts by just mixing together flour, sugar, butter and choco chips. Add to that the fact, that my hand blender was also packed, so my fingers did the odd job.I am not too sure if it's much of a recipe, since it was sheer mixing and baking of few things together. Yet I will share what went into it. After all lesser ingredients doesn't hurt anyone, if it tastes good.

Choco Chip Bars Recipe

Ingredients:

All Purpose Flour - 1 cup

Brown Sugar - 1/3 cup (we like it less sweet, so plz. add as per taste)

Butter - 1/3 cup, chilled and cut in cubes

Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp

Choco chips & chopped walnuts - 1/3 cup

Salt - A pinch

Cold Milk - 1 tbsp (if needed)

Method:

Add sugar, salt and vanilla essence to the flour in a mixing bowl.

Add chopped butter in 2-3 batches, mixing it well, till breadcrumb like mixture is formed.

Just check if it lumps together, if not add 1/2 -1 tbsp of cold milk, to pull it together.

Form it like a log and put it in cling wrap and place it refrigerater for minimum 2-3 hours.

Now take it out from fridge and cut it desired shapes. And bake it on preheated oven at 350 degree for 10- 15 mins, till it becomes little stiff.

Pull the cookie tray out and let it rest for 10-15 mins. Then just bite in.
